Aust. Conference: Wireless Devices: Risk, Regulation, Compliance and Liability

Aust. Conference: Wireless Devices: Risk, Regulation, Compliance and Liability

This conference takes place at the University of New South Wales (Australia) on 14 October 2015. There is a good line up of speakers (below). Unfortunately I will not be able to attend but I highly recommend attending for those who can make it. With the rapid roll-out of WiFi, smart meters, NBN towers, The Internet of Things, etc., etc., based on suspect health science (Hi Dr. Karl), the legal implications are a potential “Pandora’s Box” for the industry and government. An event not to be missed!

Dr Karl Kruszelnicki gets his science facts so terrably wrong

This morning (Sunday) on the ABC breakfast TV program, Australia’s well known science presenter and resident expert on all things, Dr Karl Kruszeinicki was interviewed on reports of dangers from Wi Fi and mobile phones. No transcript yet but to briefly summarize Dr. Karl’s viewpoint he saw no dangers other than heating (the old thermal paradigm) and actually said that the WHO had examined the issue and “found nothing”. For a scientist to get his facts so wrong on a nationwide ABC broadcast is inexcusable. Nothing was said about the WHO’s agency, the International Agency for Research on Cancer’s (IARC) classification of radiofrequency as a possible human carcinogen. Nothing about Hardell’s findings, just a highly public all clear for the telco industry and the government’s pro-telco policy. Interestingly there was a brief flash in the program showing the The “International EMF Scientist Appeal” which asks the Secretary General and UN affiliated bodies to encourage precautionary measures, to limit EMF exposures, and to educate the public about health risks, particularly to children and pregnant women. Kruszeinicki did not refer to this Appeal and so it was apparent that the point to his whole presentation was a subtle casting of doubt over the Appeal’s claims. Did Kruszeinicki even bother to read and consider the Appeal before attacking it? Perhaps not considering the time when he previously went on air spruiking a government policy without even taking the time to read the report which he was being paid to publicise – and regretted it later.

Take his support of the Abbot government’s Intergenerational Report which downplayed climate change for example:

ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL-PROFESSOR EMERITUS MARK A SHAPIRO ON WIRELESS IN SCHOOLS

ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL-PROFESSOR EMERITUS MARK A SHAPIRO ON WIRELESS IN SCHOOLS

Shame on Cal State Fullerton’s Dr. Mark H. Shapiro for talking out his pie hole on wireless

WHEN IT COMES TO DEFENDING THE FORCED IRRADIATION OF THE HELPLESS CHILDREN IN THE FULLERTON SCHOOL DISTRICT, THEY COULDN’T HAVE ROLLED OUT A BETTER CIRCUS CLOWN THAN THIS CHARACTER.
Shapiro-150w_400x400
Cal State Fullerton’s Dr. Mark H. Shapiro
WHERE DOES ONE BEGIN? WELL FOR STARTERS, AN INTRODUCTION.Last month, the Observer was forced to run an article about how some 120 scientists are all appealing to the World Health Organization and The United Nations to do something about the public health crisis from wireless microwave radio frequency radiation exposure to the general population and school children. http://thefullertoninformer.com/the-fullerton-observer-preoccupation-with-the-messengers-ignoring-the-science-and-two-years-of-forced-irradiation-of-fsd-school-children/
So in response, Shapiro takes it upon himself to write up a hit piece to debunk an article in the Observer that pretty much put the establishment school district irradiators in the proverbial corner.
Professor Emeritus Mark Shapiro should find out why the California Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, the Austrian Medical Association, the Israeli Ministry of Education, the German Federal Ministry, the Public Health Department of the Salzburg Region, the European Environment Agency, the Supreme Court of India, among many, many others have all come out to either limit  or eliminate EMF exposure.  http://ehtrust.org/international-policy-actions-on-wireless/
Perhaps Prof emeritus Shapiro should argue the science with 190 scientists worldwide that have come together to appeal the World Health Organization for stricter RF-radiation guidelines.
Perhaps Prof Emeritus  Mark Shapiro should argue with the multitudes that are urgently warning governments about EMF health harms.
Perhaps Prof Emeritus Mark Shapiro should talk to France, which just this year passed a new national law.  If he did, maybe he could understand why they took such extraordinary actions to insure their country’s health.  It may be that they understand the health implications of EMF a good deal better than he.
  • WIFI Banned in Nursery Schools.
  • National Radiofrequency Agency Established.
  • Cell Phones Labeled with SAR Values and Ways to Lower Radiation.
  • WiFi Routers Turned Off in Elementary Schools Except When Needed.
  • Cell Phone Ads Must Recommend Phones be Held Away From the Head.
  • Location of Wireless Routers Must be Posted.
  • Government Report To Be Prepared on Electro-hypersensitivity.
Perhaps Prof emeritus should thoroughly review the scientific findings before he injects himself into a discussion on such a hugely significant issue that he has no professional expertise from which to draw.  If he did, he would not confine his opinions exclusively to cancer.  Is he aware that the science shows impacts to heart function, reproductive health, immune and nervous systems?  If so, it is not apparent.
This statement from Prof. Shapiro is astoundingly uninformed:
“The bottom line is that the only risk to the general public from EMR at cell phone frequencies comes from the cell phones themselves, not from the towers, WiFi routers, or smart meters. And, with a little care even that risk can be greatly reduced.
It’s unfortunate that the Professor was allowed to air his personal opinion   and given the opportunity to influence the public on a matter on which decisions and positions are being taken by governments and respected associations clearly contradicting Professor Shapiro’s advice to the general public.  Prof. Shapiro, you might ask yourself:  “What do they know that I do not?”
Among those with expertise in the field the debate is over on EMF exposure and that is becoming more and more evident in the laws, ordinances, and position statements from the medical profession.  It is already happening.  They are not waiting until the dead bodies stack up.   Clearly, they are all on a different page than the CSUF professor.
Well regardless, it looks like our little fan club got nervous and decided to roll out their big gun Dr. Emeritous Shapiro. So in the early June edition of the Foolerton Observer, he states that in his opinion, the information presented in the Health News Column in the Mid-May 2015 Observer regarding the long-term health effects of Wi-Fi and other forms of non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation was seriously misleading, because it conflates very low-risk activities such as being in the vicinity of a cell phone tower, using WiFi or smart meters with a much higher risk activity. Namely, talking on a cell phone held to one’s head for long period of time.
The doc goes on to state that “to my knowledge, the only studies that have shown statistically significant increases in cancer rates associated with high-frequency electromagnetic radiation (EMR) were those where relatively high EMR doses were involved. One such study, which was mentioned in the article, showed that people who talked on cell phones for 30 minutes or more daily over a long period of time (10 years) showed a 40% increase in a particular type of malignant brain tumor – glioma.”
Hey doc, does this picture of these poor children dumped off in one of these electronic sardine cans fit that description? HOW LONG DO YOU THINK THESE CHILDREN SPEND ON THESE DEVICES THAT HAVE A HIGHER SAR THAN A  CELL PHONE? MAYBE 5,6,7 HOURS A DAY AT SCHOOL AND AT HOME? FOR HOW MANY YEARS, 12, 18, 20?
unnamed-1-297x300 (1)
Shapiro should know because this is what Cal State Fullerton looks like.

Children are being FORCED TO USE IPADS OR LAPTOPS AT SCHOOL all day-just try getting an education in The FSD without one.
I am glad he understands the Hardell study findings. It is just to bad that he appears to be too stupid to make the correlation between cell phone use which is voluntary and intermittent and iPad use which is forced and chronic. The devices in school have a higher SAR than cell phones. The iPads emit more radiation in WiFi mode than a cell phone that is being used.  I wonder if it ever occurred to Dr Braniac where these kids keep these things all day and night?
33984_479084712158056_1011868072_n-1-300x2251
This is indeed a textbook case of  “relatively high EMR doses being involved” This goes on for hours a day, at school, at home, at the park, in the car, in the plane, in the train, at the restaurant. Ipads and laptops emit more than cell phones and what the heck do you thing this crap is doing to this child with the antenna broadcasting on his zipper?
Shapiro-150w_400x400
dont you worry none
Shapiro tells us err on the side of caution because “Cell phones sold in the U.S. deliver SARs ranging from a low of 0.19 to a maximum of 1.58 Watts/kg. As the study quoted in the Health News column stated Cell phones sold in the U.S. deliver SARs ranging from a low of 0.19 to a maximum of 1.58 Watts/kg. As the study quoted in the Health News column stated exposure to SARs this high on a daily basis over many years appears to raise the risk for gliomas (a type of malignant brain cancer) by about 40% compared to the rate in the general population. While other studies have not been so definitive, we should err on the side of caution and take this particular study at face value While other studies have not been so definitive, we should err on the side of caution and take this particular study at face value.”
That is good advice so why don’t you open your eyes and apply it to the 15,000 children in the Fullerton School district who have to deal with this all day just so they can go to day care and do their homework on their iPad and then at home to finish it-all with WiFi beaming away all day and night.
Dr Shapiro why don’t you mention what we have been screaming from the mountain tops for almost 3 years at every city council and school board meeting? Ipads emit as much or more than cell phones and there is clear scientific evidence that this causes cancer!
Is this guy a circus clown or a monster? He is taking on hundred of scientists and telling us there is nothing to worry about?

wireless is safe for the whole family
He then goes on to ignore school technology and warns “Those who talk on cell phones for more than a few minutes a day should choose a cell phone model with a low SAR, and should be sure to use a wired earpiece. OH that is brilliant doc. Metallic wires of the headphones increase the intensity of the cell phone radiation as they act as an antenna. The wired headphones collect radiationfrom the surroundings.
He tells us that “The laws of physics dictate that the specific absorption rate (SAR) in Watts/kg of body weight from these sources will decrease approximately as the square of the distance from a point source of radiation – the inverse square law.“‘

looks like this child’s reproductive future is ” inversely square out of luck with point blank microwave exposure”-look where the geniuses at Apple computer put the WiFi antenna-right on his zipper and it ain’t no accident

SCOTLAND - EHS Retreat, Pishwanton Wood project, The Life Science Trust

(Via Sarah Dacre, Electrosensitivity UK)

Dear Sara,

I am Jordi Albacete Communications and Marketing Officer at Pishwanton Wood project.
I am getting in touch with you because we would like to promote our place among the electrosensitive network in the UK.
For 20 years Pishwanton Project has been developed as a teaching centre for the promotion of Goetheanism, a wholistic ecological discipline that promotes the connection between sciences and arts helping people with learning disabilities. We are part of the Camphill movement.
As a free electricity project we have no electricity in our buildings, made entirely of national materials (no chemicals at all) and hand built by crafts people. No mobile phones or electronic equipment is permitted in any of our buildings or even outside in the 60 acre compound. We try and do all our work by hand or horse traction. The only machine allowed is a lawn-mower and an occasional chain saw. May people have reported how well they feel here and how the effects of electrosmog disappear after few hours.
Currently we offer two houses for accommodation for respites by and retreat. We are also building a cabin in Pishwanton which will have no electricity or chemicals in it.
We would be very happy to be in touch and answer any questions regarding our project.
With many thanks for your attention.

Press release from the Global Union Against Radiation Deployment from Space

Global Union Against Radiation Deployment from Space
For Immediate Release

Planned Global WiFi from Space Will Destroy Ozone Layer,
Worsen Climate Change, and Threaten Life on Earth
Five companies are gearing up to provide high-speed global WiFi coverage from space within the next three to four years. This would be an ecological and public health nightmare, according to a recently-formed international coalition: the Global Union Against Radiation Deployment from Space (GUARDS).
According to GUARDS, the extensive satellite networks required will endanger the ozone layer and significantly contribute to climate change. Rocket exhaust contains ozone-destroying chlorine, water vapor (a greenhouse gas), and aluminum oxide particles, which seed stratospheric clouds. Complete ozone destruction is observed in the exhaust plumes of rockets.
The New York Times (May 14, 1991, p. 4) quoted Aleksandr Dunayev of the Russian Space Agency saying “About 300 launches of the space shuttle each year would be a catastrophe and the ozone layer would be completely destroyed.”
At that time, the world averaged only 12 rocket launches per year. Maintaining a fleet of (ultimately) 4,000 satellites, each with an expected lifespan of five years, will likely involve enough yearly rocket launches to be an environmental catastrophe.
GUARDS’ second area of concern is WiFi itself. Although widely perceived as an unqualified good, WiFi operates using extremely rapid pulses of microwave radiation—the same radiation used in microwave ovens. And a parade of studies continue to be published and ignored implicating wireless technology in the die-off of forests, the demise of frogs, bats, and honey bees, the threatened extinction of the house sparrow, and damage to the DNA of the human species. It is vital to the continuation of life that large parts of the earth be spared from the incessant radiation that accompanies wireless technologies.
“The human body”, says Dr Gerard J. Hyland, of the University of Warwick, UK, “is an electrochemical instrument of exquisite sensitivity”, noting that, like a radio, it can be interfered with by incoming radiation. If a signal can operate a mechanical device, it can disturb every cell in the human body.
On February 7, 2014, the U.S. Department of Interior stated that “the electromagnetic radiation standards used by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) continue to be based on thermal heating, a criterion now nearly 30 years out of date and inapplicable today” in reference to guidelines governing WiFi radiation frequencies.
In 2011 the World Health Organization classified radiation emitted by cell phones, and other wireless commercial infrastructure such as WiFi and smart meters as a Class 2B carcinogen, along with lead, engine exhaust, and DDT. Yet, the global WiFi projects would make this exposure ubiquitous and inescapable.
A recent letter sent by 88 organizations, representing over a million people, to the European Economic and Social Committee outlines how governments are betraying the public trust by ignoring the hazards of radio frequency/microwave (RF/MW) radiation.
Studies show wireless radiation can adversely affect fetal brain development, in addition to causing double-stranded DNA breaks and causing a wide spectrum of illnesses. The mission of GUARDS is to stop global WiFi from space because it believes that continuing and expanding involuntary exposure of the public to this known toxin violates the Nuremberg Code of Human Rights for non-consensual experimentation.

GUARDS is an international coalition of diverse groups that have joined together in order to stop the implementation of global WiFi from space, which threatens all life on earth.

The 1500-page Bioinitiative Report on RF/MW health effects was published in 2012. The authors are 29 scientists from ten countries. They reviewed thousands of studies showing interference with chemical processes in the body, implicating RF/MW in a whole spectrum of alarming effects including genetic damage, cancer, immune dysfunction, neurological injury, and infertility. The report can be found at .
The Letter of Notice sent in February 2015 to the European Economic and Social Committee by 88 organizations regarding the betrayal of public trust in ignoring the effects of RF/MW radiation can be found at .
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), a committee of the World Health Organization, has classified RF radiation, including that emitted by wireless technology, as a class 2B carcinogen. .

20 Organisations Complain to the European Commission about the SCENIHR 2015 Opinion

20 Organisations Complain to the European Commission about the SCENIHR 2015 Opinion

---
Dear all IEMFA members,
The Complaint from 20 organisations to the European Commission about the SCENIHR 2015 opinion on health effects from electromagnetic fields was sent on September 2, 2015 to Commissioner Vytenis Andriukaitis, Director General Xavier Pratsmonne, Deputy Director General Martin Seychell, Director John F. Ryan, Mr Stefan Schreck. We encourage you to post the complaint on your websites and send it to your national and European political representatives. We also encourage you to inform journalists and the media about the inacceptable biased expert report on EMF health effects from the European Commission. This has been going on for years, it has to stop. The experts behind the SCENIHR report are not representative of the scientific expertise in the field. They only represent the industry friendly single side of the expertise, in well known contrast to the opinion of a large and increasing number of scientists in the EMF scientific arena.
As an example, in May 2015 195 international EMF scientists sent an appeal to the United Nations, the WHO and its member states calling for better protection for the public from known health risks, more stringent standards and broader information to the public. No representative from this side of the scientific community was represented in the SCENIHR report. Many of these 195 scientists are well respected, with decades of experience from the EMF health effects research.
The SCENIHR 2015 opinion on health effects of EMF is misleading. There is evidence that clearly, convincingly and increasingly establishes that there are many potential negative health effects and health hazards: brain tumours, cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, damage on fetuses and stress related diseases, as communicated to the Commission by the Bioinitiative group. The SCENIHR report ignores the scientific evidence of health risks from levels of exposure to electromagnetic fields that practically everybody is increasingly exposed to, including small children, in most countries in Europe today. It is a disservice to the people of Europe and an indirect threat to their health.
The 20 organisations call for an annullement of the misleading and biased SCENIHR 2015 report on EMFs and that a new balanced and independent assessment by scientists without ties to the industry concerned about the outcome of the opinion.

Home in Orlando available for EHS, MCS sensitivies

Home in Orlando available for EHS, MCS sensitivies

I am helping a friend get the word out about his home in case you are aware of someone who is chemically and/or electrically sensitive and in real need of a place to go.

For those of us who have heard the question over and over, "Where can I go?" this house may be a blessing for that someone.

The owner, John, is moving overseas to be with family and he has healed himself while living here in this 3 bedroom, 2 bath ranch-style home in a nice and convenient neighborhood in Orlando.  The flyer is attached with his contact info.  The house has had no pesticides applied, no toxic cleaning chemicals used, no carpet, no harmful building materials, paints, sealants, etc used, and, the house has an analog power meter by choice through the opt-out program with Orlando Utilities, as the next door neighbors have done as well.  No elevated electric, magnetic or RF fields or frequencies measured.

I think it would be such a shame if this home was sold to someone who was not sensitive, as there are folks out there who desperately need a healthier place to live.

Right now the property is not listed with a realtor so pricing may be more amenable.
Contact John at  407-‐250-‐5652 with any questions or to direct anyone to see the property before he puts it up on a realtor's listing and MLS.

My very best regards,

Diana
