Man Obsessed With Cell Phone Misses Mother Humpback Whale and Calf Swimming by His Boat

Man Obsessed With Cell Phone Misses Mother Humpback Whale and Calf Swimming by His Boat

Dear All on my mailing list,

Please, watch below! I just got it from Henrik Eiriksson in Denmark.

Dear Olle,

A man on a boat, mesmerized by his phone, completely misses a humpback whale mother and her calf swimming right next to his boat!

A professional photographer, Eric Smith, who was close by, snapped many pictures of them. He described the event:

"A mom was out there with her calf, flapping, breaching, jumping, mouths eating fish -- it was fantastic," Smith said. And then there was this man, "he never moved from his phone."

best wishes,
Henrik

It surely explains very well why many persons nowadays do not give a toss about our environment, about Nature or about our planet Earth... So you sea (!) why I often cry out like a whale...

With my very best regards
Yours sincerely

Cell phone may cause hearing loss: Study

Cell phone may cause hearing loss: Study

February 07,2015, 05.55 AM  IST | | THE HANS INDIA

Expert prescribes remedy for dealing with ill-effects of gadget
Guntur: Excessive use of cell phones can trigger a host of health problems among users. According to a study, indiscriminate use of cell phone by  indulging in non-stop talk for 20 minutes every day will cause hearing loss over a period of time. Other health hazards over long-term use of cell phone are feverishness, sleeplessness, sleep disruption, migraine, palpitations of the heart, dizziness, irreversible infertility, DNA damage, immune system degradation and arising of cardiovascular problems due to exposure to electro-magnetic radiation.

These are the findings of a study undertaken by Prof.Girish Kumar, professor in electrical engineering, IIT, Mumbai whose extensive research works had been circulated at a seminar in Acharya Nagarjuna University, recently. Similarly exposure to micro-wave radiation caused by cell towers mounted on roof-tops of apartments can lead to multiple health problems leading to cancer. There are conflicting and contradictory views brushing aside the health threat perception.

A section of people defend the installation of cell towers in residential areas. These people are those who have vested business interests and are stake holders in the cell phones manufacturing and marketing industry. However, the main concern is that of those indulging in cell-phone talking spree for long hours. It amounted to indulging in tiger-riding and that it is a matter of time when the rider will end up as a food for the tiger, unless remedial measures are taken up with all seriousness and in right earnest, warns Girish Kumar.

There are 25,000 brain tumour cases in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states and most of them are attributed to excessive use of cell phones, as per a recent medical survey. Girish Kumar said that World Health Organization warned of increasing risk of cancer and brain tumour cases caused by the use of cell phones and location of cell towers in residential areas.

Suggesting remedial measures, Girish Kumar said that since cell phone use cannot be abandoned its use should be limited to brief talk time,  SMS should be used unless talking on cell phone is a must, speakers can be used but keeping cell phone in pockets for hours in a day is also not advisable as it effects the heart, abdomen and other vital organs of the body. Landline phones should be used when in office or in the house and cell phone should be sparingly used.Children should not be permitted to excessively use the electronic gadget.

BRAZIL: NOKIA TO PAY R $ 250 THOUSAND TO WORKER WHO HAD RARE CANCER

BRAZIL: NOKIA TO PAY R $ 250 THOUSAND TO WORKER WHO HAD RARECANCER

MRE, Feb 1, 2015 (Google translation)

The Seventh Chamber of the Paraná Regional Labor Court
(TRT-PR) determined payment of compensation to a Curitiba
technician who worked for fifteen years in the maintenance of
telephone towers and developed a rare type of bone cancer. The
antennas were not turned off during the execution of the service.

The company Nokia Solutions and Networks in Brazil
Telecommunications Ltd., formerly Siemens SA, will pay $
250,000 in damages plus annuity corresponding to 50% of final
salary. The decision can still be appealed.

The coach was admitted by the company in August 1986 and for
over 15 years conducted testing services, repairs and
installations in the signal transmission towers of the
company. In 2002, a tumor was found in the worker's right
thigh, which was diagnosed with chondrosarcoma, a rare type of
bone cancer. He underwent several surgeries, but ended retired
due to disability, age 37. Three other co-workers developed
the same type of cancer and died aged 28, 39 and 45 years.
The technical filed a lawsuit against the company at the 15th
Curitiba Court claiming that their health problems could have
been caused by direct contact with the electromagnetic waves
radiated by phone towers.

In the opinion of the judge of first instance was not in the
record sufficient evidence to establish a causal link between
the type of work and the disease, since cancer can have
multiple causes, such as diet and medications, among other
factors.

The worker appealed, arguing that the International Agency for
Research on Cancer (IARC), linked to the World Health
Organization classifies exposure to electromagnetic fields as
possibly carcinogenic to humans.

In their analysis, the judges gave the Seventh Class reason
the employee, noting that an expert report presented
information from the medical literature linking
electromagnetic radiation with cellular and genetic phenomena
that promote cancer. They also understood that the company was
wrong to omit as the prevention and monitoring of risks, in
addition to not have done exposure control of radiation worker.
"Considering the fact or evidence together, it considers that
the work activities developed by the author contributed to the
development of their disease (concausa), leaving configured
concausalidade link. Resta set the guilt of the defendant,
given that not arranged for the work to be developed without
risk to the health of your employee "it said judgment which
ordered the company to pay a lifetime monthly pension plus
punitive damages.

Restless Leg Syndrome - Another Nervous System Problem, Caused or Highly Influenced by Microwave Radiation

Restless Leg Syndrome - Another Nervous System Problem, Caused or Highly Influenced by Microwave Radiation

Hi Martin,

Two weeks ago you gave a talk to the Huron Perth Women in Arriculture at Seaforth and
I was one of the ladies in attendance.

I was not new to the topic, but hearing that a cordless phone had so
much radiation, give me cause to think.

My husband HAD severe restless leg syndrome, till the point that it
was physically hurting him and keeping us both from sleeping. We were
thinking about sleeping separately. Our family doctor had given
different ideas and medication over the years, but nothing alleviated
the problem.

So after this Women's meeting I put the cordless units away, without
telling my husband the reason. After a week I introduced my husband to
the concept of radiation from appliances and gadgets and if he had
seen any change.

Well; he had not slept so well in many years, and the some goes for me.

Thank you for helping us to make the healthy change to a life without
restless legs.

La Quinta, CA Middle School Cancer Continues

La Quinta, CA Middle School Cancer Continues

Between 2004-2007 Sam Milham and Lloyd Morgan were involved in the La Quinta, CA middle school teacher cancer cluster issue. They determined there were high levels of high frequency voltage transients in many of the classrooms. Raymond Neutra of the CDPH agreed but 6 weeks later changed his tune after going to his "advisory" committee.

The case was closed in 2007 when the uncooperative Superintendent send out a press release stating the school received a clean bill of health from the CDPH. Not entirely true as they did say the cancers were not by chance and unexplained.

I recently moved to the area and had a dirty electricity issue in my own home. Sam helped me through it as he lives near me. He then told me how past students from the school were now reporting cancers. I began investigating this and many are now surfacing. We have taken this to local media and hope it will get picked up nationally. We are also working with students and teachers to get to the bottom of this once and for all. We want all student and teacher names to be run through the CA Cancer Registry - we want filters installed and if they want to find the source they should do so. Of course there is major opposition to this.

The school district is still uncooperative and just wishes we would go away. Now that we have teachers and students with cancer that will not happen!!!

Sam wrote about this school in his book "Dirty Electricity". Unfortunately the saga continues.

Tocci: Is wireless technology a boon or disaster?

Tocci: Is wireless technology a boon or disaster?

To the Editor:
It’s a funny thing about language. You can say something that’s quite true but actually amounts to a giant lie.
Where's the story?PointsMentioned Map1 Points Mentioned
So it is with government pronouncements about the safety of wireless technology. All devices and the towers emit power levels of microwave that cannot heat living tissue. From this perspective, it’s all safe .
The CDC information page says: “At this time we do not have the science to link health problems to cell phone use. Scientific studies are underway to determine whether cell phone use may cause health effects. It is also important to consider the benefits of cell phones. Their use can be valuable in an urgent or emergency situation — and even save lives.”
However, to say that “we” do not have the science is not to say (but to imply) the science doesn’t exist. Truth within lie. If we consult neuroscience professor Olle Johansson of the Karolinska Institute in Sweden (http://youtu.be/cczGVhd63pM), we find that the scientific literature is fairly boiling over with studies showing extreme danger to health.
Why the contradiction? Because the exposure standard set by the FCC is based upon heating. Whereas, the science says that power levels millions and even billions of times lower have profound effects on biological systems — all life, in other words. But of course, if you don’t listen …
Note also the “excuse” lines about benefits. The benefit/risk argument is commonly used to justify insanity — especially when risks are hidden. The list of illnesses is long and distressing. It includes reproductive failure, DNA damage, endocrine disruption, and cancer.
In this case, however, it’s not even about risk. There’s no doubt that we will fatally damage ourselves if we persist. Especially kids and female fetuses (the eggs). One reason we know this is because history shows that industry and governments long ago did all the research on pulsed microwave — as a stealth weapon. Well before it was applied to telecommunications.
If you search for Barrie Trower, you will hear the evidence. He was involved, as a Royal Navy microwave weapons expert. The ramifications are hair-raising, which makes it all seem unbelievable.
One kicker is that the absolute worst of all the telecom frequencies is WiFi. Misguided school officials, who want kids to do their homework, haven’t done their own, and allow this to be put into schools. And now, via collusion between industry and state government, we are threatened by the planned deployment of “smart” electric meters using WiFi. This will be a disaster, and you will foot the bill.
Trower says putting WiFi into schools should be punished with life imprisonment for criminal negligence. I agree.
Please, folks, do your own homework on this. It’s not paranoid delusion. Do not rest upon official assurances. Don’t wait for the inevitable, great waves of illness that have already dawned but are not yet widely recognized. The kids are at stake. America is at stake.

LETTER: Out-smarting the Smart Meter Fraud

LETTER: Out-smarting the Smart Meter Fraud

Congratulations to Angie Anderson and the Durango Smart Meter Opt-Out group for packing the house at their showing of Josh Del Sol’s second edition of “Take Back Your Power.” You can You-tube the film for a couple of bucks if you missed it… I wouldn’t miss it. The public is coming unglued as the industry coverup regarding wireless radiation and Smart Meters unravels… and many of them sicken and quit sleeping quickly after the little square digital devices replace those cross-eyed 5 clock dials no one could ever read on their user friendly analog ones… the ones they grew up with.
If your power bill has taken an unexplained hike in the past one to three years, find out the date of the Not-So-Smart Meter’s installation and start shoveling. You can watch the meter explosions and fires for yourself on the film… Josh is getting damned good with that camera, and has lots of help.
Fire from the smart meter melted part of a window screen (at right). Firefighters told the homeowner that her house would have been more damaged if the meter had been installed on a wood wall instead of one made from brick. Image courtesy of Shirley Bayliff.

La Plata Electric Association may very well be headed toward national fame and profile… probably this year. Also making his public debut at the filming was Private Investigator Wayne Alexander… hired by the Pagosa Springs Opt Out Group (Pagosa got their “Smart Frying” meters only last summer) to investigate the pile of mysterious government funding paper trails, collapsed corporations and the like, that LPEA launched to receive government Stimulus Funds. Unanswered questions, mis-answered questions, refusals, denials and abuses surrounding their meter rollout… despite the truckloads of information (medical as well as irritated) warning them not to… which, of course, they also refused to read.
pagosaenergymassage.com
We are rapidly entering (many insist we’re there) the time where management/ownership which refuses to access, credence and respect professional documentation of the toxicology and morbidity stemming from Wireless Radiation create a career terminating situation for themself. When their construence removes the rights of any employee or customer or neighbor to make their own determinations for health and safety (whether or not they happen to agree with those concerns) … this is indeed a classic, prosecutable and despicable criminal offense. Now we proceed to enforce those rights… certainly not to pay for their abuse as a condition of the monthly power bill.
If you have hard evidence and fact regarding LPEA abuses, denials, false claims of safety and discrepancies… email Wayne: smartmeterinfo@hushmail.com. My hunch, having fought several long and bloody power company wars before… this one is going to be an epic. I like epics… we always win.
What was heartening was the public turnout and outrage around the film…thirst for accurate information. As we all realize, there isn’t (and never has been) a safe level of wireless radiation. Having a meter with not just one, but two cell phones in it sizzling 24/7 on your baby’s crib room outside wall is a no brainer. Gone fixes that one.
I’ve written so many medical documentation/ resource guide letters to Durango/ Pagosa media in the last two years… I won’t bore you with another list you can never get to. You can email and I’ll fill you up if you missed them. Keep you out of the bars (sorry bar owners). But things got easier, and deeper, with the recent publication of Electronic Silent Spring by Katie Singer (Electrosensitive/ Santa Fe). Everything I’d send you is in this book… and tons more. Have it by your bed… not the iPhone. Unbelievable anyone could get this panorama between two covers…despite the impairment. She did it… we need to get her here at Maria’s or the Library this spring… and of course, she hits the Smart Meter fiasco and what’s behind it hard. Regionally, similar Smart Meter removal mandates are forming in Aspen, Carbondale, Redstone, Paonia, Gunnison, Rico, Ridgway, Ouray, Moab, Dolores… email and I’ll connect you.
In a lifestyle that leaves you non-voluntarily swimming in it (Wireless Radiation) anything you do to dump any of it is a help. By now you all know not to buy into the industry debunking and coverup. That filming was hardly a room full of psychosomatic whackos… not hardly. Del Sol’s pictures of the power company employees in bullet proof vests and flack helmets going over single mother’s locked back fence gates and breaking through the back door to instalL a meter over protests are pretty damned hard evidence to refute. The film clip of Obama saying… rather stuttering…”under my plan, electrical power prices will skyrocket” pretty much says it all.
I live off grid on recaptured (not Smart Grid and not Renewable) power. Your world… go for it… while you can.
PS… You own your power company in La Plata and Archuleta Counties. it’s an REA. You vote, their heads rolL… things change… could be for the better. That depends on what you do… right now.

iPads and smartphones given to children to calm them down during a tantrum 'may damage their brains'

iPads and smartphones given to children to calm them down during a tantrum 'may damage their brains'

  • Scientists warn regular use of electronic devices to placate children could interfere with development of empathy, social and problem solving skills

  • These skills are typically obtained by exploring, unstructured play and interacting with peers, they said

  • Study found e-books and learning apps are wasted on children under two

  • Parents encouraged to try apps before their children and to use learning apps with them to enhance learning skills

Researchers found using the latest media as a calming tool prevents youngsters from developing their own methods of self-regulation.

Although e-books and learn to read apps can prove useful, they are wasted on children under two-and-a-half, and are most effective when used with parents, the study found.
Past research has found children under the age of 30 months cannot learn from television and videos as well as they can from real-life interactions.

A study by scientists at the University of Boston School of Medicine found using iPads and other electronic devices to placate a child during a tantrum could stunt development of empathy, social and problem solving skills typically obtained by exploring, unstructured play and interacting with their peers (file image)

But there are fewer studies investigating whether this is the case for interactive applications.

Early research has found infants and toddlers learn best through hands-on and face-to-face experiences.

Dr Jenny Radesky, clinical instructor in developmental behavioural paediatrics at Boston University School of Medicine, said: 'Mobile devices are everywhere and children are using them more frequently at young ages.

'It has been well-studied that increased television time decreases a child's development of language and social skills.

'Mobile media use similarly replaces the amount of time spent engaging in direct human-human interaction.

'Heavy device use during young childhood could interfere with development of empathy, social and problem solving skills that are typically obtained by exploring, unstructured play and interacting with peers.

'These devices also may replace the hands-on activities important for the development of sensorimotor and visual-motor skills, which are important for the learning and application of maths and science.'

Recognising the value of learning apps, the study encourages parents to use them with their children to get the maximum benefits.  But researchers found these apps are wasted on children under the age of two

Recognising the value of learning apps, the study encourages parents to use them with their children to get the maximum benefits.  But researchers found these apps are wasted on children under the age of two

The researchers found that while mobile device use by children can provide an educational benefit, the use of these devices to distract children during mundane tasks may be detrimental to the social-emotional development of the child.

Dr Radesky added: 'If these devices become the predominant method to calm and distract young children, will they be able to develop their own internal mechanisms of self-regulation?'

While much remains unknown, the authors recommend that parents try each app before allowing their children to access it.

And parents are encouraged to use these apps with their children, with research suggesting using interactive media together enhances its educational value.

Dr Radesky said: 'At this time, there are more questions than answers when it comes to mobile media.

'Until more is known about its impact on child development quality family time is encouraged, either through unplugged family time, or a designated family hour.'
Researchers reviewed the latest interactive media in a commentary for the journal Paediatrics.

Wi-Fi payphones/kiosks LAWSUIT

Wi-Fi payphones/kiosks LAWSUIT

Dear All,

At this point trying to reason with the NYC Council is a waste of time - we don't have the manpower to put pressure on them to schedule a hearing.

If people can send people my way in NYC/ metro NY area with EHS - or really anyone with EHS that has reason to go to NYC who are willing to sign on to a lawsuit, I'll write up a complaint to ask for an injunction.

The HRL (Human Rights Law) also covers people with just about any medical condition, so anyone with a doctor's letters saying they should avoid RF could also be a plaintiff.

If no one is willing to publicly ID themselves, then a lawsuit can't be done.  I would respectfully ask people to consider the trade off between privacy and the need to make a stand against this scheme which is an affront to human dignity and the overall wellbeing of the public's health.

thanks for your consideration,

Deborah Kopald

Swedish company implants microchips in its staff which lets them use the photocopier and pay in the canteen

  • Swedish company has implanted microchips in its employees' hands
  • Chips allow staff to use the photocopier and even pay for their lunch
  • Each chip is the size of a grain of rice and stores personal information
  • Radio-frequency identification is already used in contactless cards

It is hoped that eventually around 700 employees from the Epicenter hi tech office block in Stockholm may eventually have the chips implanted into the back of their hands.
The chips use radio-frequency identification (RFID) and are about the same size as a grain of rice.

They store personal security information which can be transmitted over short distances to special receivers.

RFID chips can already be found in contactless cards - including the Oyster system which is used by more than 10 million people to pay for public transport in London.
They are also similar to the chips implanted in pets.

Hannes Sjoblad, the chief disruption officer at the Swedish bio-hacking group BioNyfiken, which implanted the chips into the Epicenter workers, told The Times: 'We already interact with with technology all the time.

'Today it's a bit messy - we need pin codes and passwords - wouldn't it be easy to just touch with your  hand?

'We want to be able to understand this technology before big corporates and big government come to us and say everyone should get chipped - the tax authority chip, the Google or Facebook chip.'

He says we will then be able to question the way the technology is implemented from a position of much greater knowledge.
He added that they believe they have only just started discovering all of the things having a microchip could allow us to do.
In 1999 Professor Kevin Warwick, of Reading University, had a chip implanted into his nervous system and was able to control a robot arm - developed by his colleague Dr Peter Kyberd - using thought power.
It was hoped the technology could radically change the lives of amputees and victims of paralysis.

Last year MailOnline reported a Brisbane man, Ben Slater, had one of the chips being use din Stockholm injected into his left hand through a syringe at a Melbourne tattoo parlour.

It means Mr Slater can swing his front door open, switch on his lights and store personal information with the flick of his hand.

'The most obvious thing the chip allows me to do is store my contact information on it, so that I can just touch a phone with NFC and pass my information to their phone. That is a great party trick,' he told Daily Mail Australia.

'But it can also trigger an action on my phone to turn the house lights off, open a secure door which is set to recognise the chip or I could - and probably will - set up my car ignition to be linked to the chip for keyless entry and start up.'

Mr Slater told Daily Mail Australia he made the decision to implant the microchip because he had always been interested in the future of technology.

'I wanted to get the chip implanted to generate discussion,' he said.

'It intrigues me that we live in an age where this type of activity is even possible.'

Mr Slater said the procedure to implant the microchip was painful, but over quickly.

'I just needed to be really careful when it was healing over the course of two weeks so that I didn't move it - otherwise it could have travelled in my hand,' he said.
