Canadians for Radiation Emissions Enforcement (CFREE)

Canadians for Radiation Emissions Enforcement (CFREE)

We need your help to protect Canadians from radiation emissions that are supposed to be governed by the Radiation Emissions Devices Act!

Canadians For Radiation Emissions Enforcement is a group of Canadians who have come together to call on the Federal government to enforce provisions under the Radiation Emitting Devices Act (REDA).
According to the Government of Canada:
“Health Canada has expertise in measuring noise and assessing the health impacts of noise because of its role in administering the Radiation Emitting Devices Act (REDA). As defined under REDA, noise is a form of radiation.”
For nearly a decade citizens living near industrial wind turbines have reported adverse health effects they believe are directly linked to living near these radiation emitting facilities. It has become critical for the Federal government, using existing legislative and regulatory authority to step in and protect the health and well-being of Canadians.
Health Canada’s wind turbine noise and health study found that people living near these devices are reporting significant levels of high annoyance. Authoritative and other references acknowledge annoyance as an adverse health effect.
According to the interpretation of the REDA, “radiation” means energy in the form of electromagnetic waves or acoustical waves. Research has shown that the acoustical waves emitted by industrial wind turbines are associated with the start up of a wind energy facility.
